The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, has suspended till further notice the operation of Sikorsky S-76C type of aircraft with Bristow Helicopters Limited. The suspension follows the Bristow Helicopter’s crash on Wednesday,
DAILY POST recalls that the Bristow Sikorsky S-76C+ helicopter said to be flying into Lagos from an oil rig in Delta State on Wednesday, was involved in a water landing crash near Lagos at about 10.25 a.m. local time. It had on board eleven people who narrowly escaped death.
The Director-General of the agency, Capt. Muhtar Usman, said the suspension was to enable the agency carry out a full scale audit on its operations with particular emphasis on Sikorsky S-76C type.
Usman made this known while addressing journalists on Thursday in Lagos state.

It would also be recalled that in August 2015, six people lost their lives when a Sikorsky S-76C+ helicopter, also operated by Bristow Helicopters crashed into a Lagoon.
