Leicester City's Jamie Vardy out for two weeks. Set to undergo Groin Surgery

Leicester City's Jamie Vardy out for two weeks. Set to undergo Groin Surgery

Leicester City's star striker Jamie Vardy will undergo groin surgery and will miss at least the club's FA Cup fixture against Tottenham.
Vardy will "undergo surgery in the next two days" to repair what what's considered a "minor issue with his groin,"and the striker will miss seven to 10 days.
If there's one player Foxes boss Claudio Ranieri could ill afford to lose it's Vardy.
The injury is a bitter blow for Vardy, who has been in the form of his life this season. He broke Ruud van Nistelrooy's record for scoring in consecutive Premier League games earlier this campaign, finding the net in 11 straight matches.
Without Vardy, the Foxes may well turn to former Brighton and Hove Albion target man Leonardo Ulloa, but that would mean a crucial and potentially harmful tweak to Leicester's playing style.
Ranieri's men have stunned the Premier League this season by terrorising defences with their lightning pace on the break. Vardy has been a central figure in this tactic.

Can Leicester bounce back after defeat to Liverpool

Can Leicester bounce back after defeat to Liverpool

Can Jamie Vardy and his boys cause an upset today?

Manchester City are expecting a strong response from second placed Premier league club,  Leicester City after the Foxes slipped to only their second league defeat of the season against Liverpool.
Fourth placed City travel to Leicester on Tuesday after dispatching second-from-bottom Sunderland 4-1 on Saturday.
Leicester have lost their last three games in all competitions against City, conceding six goals in the process.
“Leicester are top of the table because they deserve to be. They have very important players in a very good moment with high performance,” City manager Manuel Pellegrini told reporters on Monday.
“They beat Chelsea and drew against (Manchester) United — we must consider they will not collapse because they lost.
“We knew it was not easy for them to beat Liverpool away so we were confident that we could reduce the gap at the top if we beat Sunderland.
“Leicester couldn’t win and now we have an important game to finish the first round of fixtures.”
Leicester duo Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez have scored 28 of the 37 goals the team have netted in the league this season.
“Both of them are performing very well but I don’t think they can do it if the whole team are not having a good performance,” the former Real Madrid manager said.
“They are important players but we must think about a lot of different things — not just two players.”

Football: Leicester return to summit with 2-1 win as Chelsea woes continue

From left to right, Leicester City's goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel, defender Christian Fuchs and midfielder Marc Albrighton celebrate after winning their EPL match against Chelsea in Leicester on Monday.

Sublime goals from Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez sent Leicester City back to the Premier League summit after a deserved 2-1 win on Monday over lackluster Chelsea whose march to the title last season seems a distant memory.

The prolific Vardy, whose record run of 11 consecutive Premier League goals came to an end at Swansea City last weekend, beat goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois with a crisp volley from play maker Mahrez's delightful cross after 34 minutes.
