Rivers people and supporters took to the street to celebrate the victory of Governor Wike at the supreme court.They trooped out in numbers, singing victory songs and dancing joyfully.
Info 247 Plus spoke to some of them, Mrs Ruth Amadi, attributed the victory to God and the fact that Governor Wike handed the matter to God.
She said " He won because God was involved and also because he found time to attend two heavy weight program in the state which was The Redeemed Christian Church convention and The five Nights of Glory of Salvation ministries. He was there throughout praying. While the other party was busy making propagation and gallivanting.

Also Mr Bassey said "the Supreme court has proven that the mandate of the people is important and the last hope of the common man. Also the supreme court has preserved the peace enjoyed in Rivers State".
He went further to explained saying "my brother that if a re-run election had taken place, me and you would not be here because the killings and violence will be too much".
