Leicester City's star striker Jamie Vardy will undergo groin surgery and will miss at least the club's FA Cup fixture against Tottenham.
Vardy will "undergo surgery in the next two days" to repair what what's considered a "minor issue with his groin,"and the striker will miss seven to 10 days.
If there's one player Foxes boss Claudio Ranieri could ill afford to lose it's Vardy.
The injury is a bitter blow for Vardy, who has been in the form of his life this season. He broke Ruud van Nistelrooy's record for scoring in consecutive Premier League games earlier this campaign, finding the net in 11 straight matches.
Without Vardy, the Foxes may well turn to former Brighton and Hove Albion target man Leonardo Ulloa, but that would mean a crucial and potentially harmful tweak to Leicester's playing style.
Ranieri's men have stunned the Premier League this season by terrorising defences with their lightning pace on the break. Vardy has been a central figure in this tactic.
