The midfielder was already on his way to Nigeria shortly after a ransom demand was made by the kidnappers, and Amker Perm has deemed it necessary to still allow him travel to see his family even after the wife’s release.
Ogude’s situation means he will be absent for the start of his club’s warm weather training in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, and this much has been confirmed by Amker Perm in a press release issued on Monday.
“The team set off in full, except for Fegor Ogude, which the club has provided additional leave due to his current situation,” the press release read in part.
Maimunat Ogude was released on Sunday evening, after spending almost a week at the hands of the kidnappers. It remains unclear whether a ransom was paid.
