A 22 year old truck pusher Sola Akangbe in Omu-Aran, Kwara State died yesterday from wounds he sustained from a fire accident.The fire was set on him by his father Mr Kahinde Akangbe,who is a commercial driver.
Sola Akangbe was accused of stealing an undisclosed amount of money belonging to roadside beggars and was caught by passersby who handed him over to his father.
On receiving the boy,his father immediately took him to a nearby bush.tied his hand and legs before setting him ablaze.He was rescued and was still alive but died later due to high degree burns he sustained.He was later confirmed dead by doctors at Ajisafe Hospital where he was rushed to by the police.
His mother, Rachael, a trader who divorced Mr Kehinde, 7 years ago, was seen crying in the hospital after the death of her son was broken to her. The mother went further to explain that her son was a well know trouble maker,but expressed shock at her former husband action.
Mr Ajayi Okasanmi, the Police Public Relation Officer in the state,who confirmed the incident, said Mr Kehinde is already in police net and investigation into the case is in progress.
