TEAM NEWS: Walcott and Giroud both start as Arsenal seeks to win take them top.

ASTON VILLA VS ARSENAL STATISTICS

Aston Villa welcome Arsenal to Villa Park this weekend in what is a huge match for both sides.
Remi Garde’s men are currently bottom of the Premier League table with just six points from a possible 45 and they are already eight points from safety before the hectic festive fixtures that could make or break the Frenchman’s time in charge.

As for Arsenal, Arsene Wenger’s side is third in the table but will go top if they can overcome Villa this afternoon.
The Gunners have 30 points and will go one clear of current leaders Manchester City with a victory.

The last time these two sides met was in last season’s FA Cup final, where Arsenal ran out comfortable winners, but much has changed since then and how Villa will be dreaming of a similar run in the second half of the current campaign.

While Villa are struggling for any kind of consistency, Arsenal have won just one of their last four league matches so it is not cut and dry who will come out on top this afternoon.
